CRH ranked among sector leaders by the CDP and DJSI

CRH is ranked among sector leaders by leading Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) rating agencies and we recognise that a strong sustainability performance is key to a strong business.

Addressing climate change is a cornerstone of CRH’s approach to sustainability and we have a long history of reporting on our climate performance. We actively engage with multiple organisations and platforms around carbon disclosure including the CDP, a non-profit organisation that runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to measure their environmental impacts.

In 2021, CRH achieved a CDP A- rating for both its climate and water disclosures, acknowledging our commitment to transparency when it comes to our sustainability reporting. In addition, CRH maintained its position in the 2021 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) Europe.

Launched in 1999, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) were among the first set of global indices to track the largest and leading sustainability-driven publicly listed companies and continue to evaluate companies’ sustainability performance in terms of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria.

CRH’s inclusion in the 2021 index recognises the efforts made across the Group to drive sustainability performance and reporting and the contribution we can make to society in shaping a more sustainable world.

Sustainability reporting is evolving, and we aim to continuously improve our reporting and communications on sustainability so that all stakeholders are aware of our value adding approach.

You can find out more about our sustainability performance in our 2021 Sustainability Report, as well as on our Climate Action page.
