Standing together with UNICEF, we’re building stronger communities and a healthier future for every child.
Clean Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Program
In 2026, our partnership is evolving to support UNICEF’s water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) program in vulnerable communities.
Access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene services is one of the most fundamental needs during any humanitarian crisis. In conflict-affected and fragile countries, water systems are often damaged or destroyed, leaving millions of children and families without access to safe drinking water and at the risk of disease. UNICEF works to restore and sustain these life-saving services, which are the first and last line of defense for children’s health and dignity.
CRH’s expertise in water infrastructure and our commitment to building stronger, healthier communities make us a natural partner in this effort to shape a better future for all.
The Challenge
2.2 billion people worldwide do not have access to safe drinking water
1,000 children under the age of five die every day from preventable diseases caused by a lack of or inadequate water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services
The consequences of climate change, displacement and increasing water scarcity threaten the health and development of children globally
About Our Partnership with UNICEF
In 2024, CRH started a five-year partnership with UNICEF, committing to an investment of $15 million.
The partnership focuses on vaccine procurement and delivery as well as addressing vaccine hesitancy through education and immunization awareness programs, in order to help prevent outbreaks of deadly diseases in vulnerable communities. CRH is equipping clinics with cold chain technology for safe vaccine storage and delivering routine vaccinations to children who missed them during the pandemic. Our partnership is building a healthier future for generations of children. Standing together with UNICEF, we’ve strengthened health systems, facilitated the training of thousands of health workers, and restored essential immunization services in communities that needed them most.
In 2024:
Our partnership delivered 11 million vaccine doses to 3.1 million children and pregnant women in Cuba, Syria and Sudan.

Voices from the field: The smiles that make it worthwhile
At Abata health centre in Sudan, queues of mothers with their little ones stretched long. One by one, infants were vaccinated- finally shielded from deadly diseases. “Hundreds of children under one year old received their routine immunization doses,” Mohammed said with a smile. “This makes the journey worthwhile.
