New accelerator program to support lower-carbon sustainable solutions

CRH, through its venture capital unit, CRH Ventures, has launched a new accelerator program, Sustainable Building Materials. The program is targeting ConstructionTech and ClimateTech start-ups innovating to develop new materials and applications to reduce construction-related emissions and enhance circularity.

CRH is leading the transition to smarter, more sustainable construction and is leveraging a wide range of technologies and innovative solutions to meet the changing needs of construction.

The Sustainable Building Materials accelerator aims to identify and scale market-ready circular and lower-carbon innovations focusing on sustainable binder solutions, CO2 mineralized materials and non-traditional, novel solutions for cement and concrete applications.

Through this program start-ups will gain access to the network, knowledge and expertise of the leading building materials solutions business in North America and Europe, with the opportunity to pilot their technology at scale within CRH’s operations.

The Sustainable Building Materials accelerator will advance the deployment of breakthrough technologies in the building materials industry and demonstrates CRH’s commitment to decarbonizing and delivering innovative lower-carbon solutions for its customers.

It is the third accelerator launched by CRH Ventures since 2023 and follows the successful Water Solutions and Roads of the Future programs.
