Connecting Communities
CRH Company Texas Materials partnered with the city of Dallas on the Luna Road project, which used asphalt that included four different recycled materials: 21% RAP, 12% RAS, 7% waste sand from manufacturing of roof shingles and 28% used tire rubber-modified asphalt binder.
Rethinking Material Use
CRH in Denmark collaborated to develop a way to cast new concrete elements by re-using whole pieces of recovered concrete components. This reduces the amount of new concrete required and the need for primary materials, including cement and aggregates.
Printing New Homes
Using Less
CRH is developing the use of 3D concrete printing (3DCP), using large-scale 3D printers to construct structures layer by layer, helping to reduce waste, resource and energy use and speed up construction time. CRH Company Oldcastle APG partnered with New Standard Homes to successfully use 3DCP to construct three concrete homes in Texas.
1 – Revenues derived from products that incorporate any, or a combination of; recycled materials; are produced using alternative energy and fuel sources; have a lower carbon footprint as compared to those produced using traditional manufacturing processes; and/or are designed to specifically benefit the environment (i.e. water treatment and management systems, products with strong thermal mass/U-values).
