Decking made with 95% recycled materials is recognised by Green Builder Magazine

Oldcastle APG, a CRH Company, was recently recognised for its MoistureShield environmentally friendly Elevate™ decking line by Green Builder Magazine. Green Builder is the building industry's leading magazine focused on green building and sustainable development in North America.

The magazine’s “Green Innovation of the Year Award” is given annually to construction businesses that distinguish themselves in the area of sustainability and innovation to reduce the impact of construction on the environment.

By using recycled materials to manufacture products like composite decking, MoistureShield diverts tens of millions of pounds of plastic and timber waste from landfills annually. The decking’s superior strength, durability, aesthetic and affordability underline the enormous potential for the increased use of recycled materials in the manufacture of sustainable outdoor living products.

Oldcastle APG is North America's largest manufacturer of outdoor living products and has an important role to play in supporting CRH to achieve its target of generating 50% of revenue from products with enhanced sustainability attributes by 2025. In 2020, 46% of CRH's products already met this criteria, underlining our commitment to producing innovative and value-added materials, products and solutions which make a positive contribution to a more sustainable built environment.
